Embiggen and the Embiggen Innovation Institute (EII) trained the economic officers of the Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in marketing and economic diplomacy last December 13-14, 2022.
The diplomacy training program was enhanced by innovation, strategic foresight, and futures thinking concepts.
EII equipped the DFA’s economic officers with the tools and knowledge they need to analyze the macroeconomic environment and create comprehensive and accurate intelligence reports.
These are fundamental building blocks to craft strategic, concrete, and effective marketing and economic diplomacy plans that will support the nation’s economic agenda with its foreign partners and stakeholders.
Using EII’s action-learning methodology, the participants were tasked to apply the knowledge and skills they gained in the creation of an actual marketing and economic diplomacy plan targeted to suit the geographic region they will be assigned to. They presented these plans to Embiggen’s team and DFA’s leadership.
Embiggen’s training team was led by Embiggen Innovation Institute Managing Director Masaki Mitsuhashi. He is a GIMI Certified Innovation Professional and has worked on several projects related to stakeholder-centered innovations and development in the contexts of health, environment, climate change, disaster risk reduction, education, and leadership.
The training team also includes Embiggen Founding CEO & Managing Partner Rolan Marco Garcia. He is a recognized Innovation Consultant by the international standard certification body for innovation and innovation management, the Global Innovation Management Institute (GIMI), and is a member of their Think Tank. Embiggen is the Certified Training Partner of GIMI in the Philippines.
Other training organizations include Century Pacific, the International Trade Center, IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), EON Group, Potato Corner, Liwayway Marketing Company, San Miguel Brewing International Ltd., and Advantage Austria.
This concerted effort strengthened the DFA’s capability to support the current administration’s economic priorities and further uplift and develop the nation for decades to come.
