Operations Associate – Business Development

The Business Development Professional will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the innovation and venture capital field. The candidate will work closely with the company’s leadership team to develop and execute strategies to drive growth and profitability.

Main Responsibilities

    • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities by maintaining current knowledge of the newest developments and trends in the innovation, corporate and/or startup space and conducting specialized research to support the Business Development team in contextualizing conversations with clients.
    • Organizing data and generating deep customer insights to enhance business development productivity and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with the Knowledge Management and other relevant teams in generating thought leadership content and understanding “Dark Social” to complement demand generation efforts. 
    • Lead Embiggen’s Business Development Activation events through organizing, partner coordination, and attendee management to support lead and demand generation efforts.
    • Source events and activities to attend either as an attendee, sponsor, and/or speaker.
    • Work with the marketing and communications team to develop and execute marketing strategies to promote activation events
    • Work with the Business Development team in developing compliance and professionally produced proposals within operational timeframes.
    • Maintain a current database of proposal templates 
    • Coordinate and edit proposal input from a variety of sources including templates and feedback from the Business Development team.
    • Monitoring and analyzing key business development performance indicators and trends to drive strategic and tactical business decisions and also coordinating and ensuring the accuracy of the sales forecast.
    • Ensuring sales process adoption and compliance and also identifying opportunities for improvement in the business development process and systems to ensure greater sales effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and execute business development strategies and prepare and present reports and analyses to senior management

Requirements and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • Ideally with 3 years of experience in a business development role, but fresh graduates with strong academic and extracurricular experience are welcome to apply. 
  • Strong understanding of the innovation, corporate, and/or startup industry is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in spreadsheets and presentation software, and ideally with experience in utilizing project management and customer relationship management software such as Notion, Trello, and Hubspot.
